Testicle festival?!
I dug through the archives to find my posting of "testicle festival" last year! Well, it comes again this weekend at the Double bar of the race (about 45 minutes of Kelly Lake). Again this year, Lake Levar Kelly invited us to participate, and we have taken at his word! I have tried to find more info on it other than Saturday. Here's what I posted the Last year:
"Thin slices to eat with a big smile" I do not know how to handle this delicate, but that's it!For the last two years, Levar Kelly Lake and the society we have to pray to go to the race (near Mountain) for "testicle festival", you know, where the menu of the 8th annual bed ", hamburgers, corn, baking, and libations, and, uh, bull testicles! (?) While grateful for the invitation to join them through the years we have graciously declined; remember a joke that we did.Perhaps this is a little gross ... but I guess you eat them like oysters, throw them on your tongue at the back of your mouth and let them slide down your throat with a glass of wine to rinse the viscous residue along! However, Levar ever so persuasive, Shirley and I reluctantly agreed, Shirley said she would go along, but was not going to eat, she did not. (Note: I imagine there are some bulls out there in the pastures and bellowing bellyaching, "Meow, meow," rather, "Moo, moooo!")
We arrived at the party celebrating a typical party, DJ, roasted corn, people (and children) laughing, mingling, drinking, eating. First place? Belly to the bar for some bravado, courage, guts ... Suffice it to say that this macho image portrayed by the patrons of the leather clad,-supposed to have the gonads to eat b____ did not impress me! Mothers and children were eating, too, women and children first ... please!
Well (not really "good", thinking about it), we slugged down the beer, ordered another one for the slug slug down we were about to feast on, and made our way to the gourmet grill . Nothing I thought. The testes were sliced thin, breaded and fried. It was crazy! They were at their service as quickly as they could fry! One can hardly taste anything but salt and paste. Tasted like chicken almost done, they were good! I wonder who had this crazy idea!
