Sean Rodman has joined SOVRN Creative as a creative strategist.

Rodman was creative director at Ferguson Advertising, a 20-person advertising agency in Fort Wayne, Ind. Rodman began his career at Carmichael Lynch, an advertising agency. He also worked at Sullivan, Higdon & Sink, an ad agency in Kansas.

Rodman has a bachelor’s degree in journalism with an emphasis in advertising and commercial production from the University of Kansas and a master’s degree in integrated marketing communications from Northwestern University.

Stoltz Marketing Group received national recognition at the American Advertising Federation’s ADDY Awards.

Stoltz’s newspaper campaign for United Way of Treasure Valley was recognized with a Silver ADDY at the show. It also was part of the campaign that received Best of Show from the Idaho Advertising Federation and a regional ADDY from the Northwest ADDY Awards competition.

This is the second consecutive year — and fourth time in eight years — that Stoltz has been recognized at the national level. In 2010, the agency received an ADDY for its packaging designs for Lucky Bums Outdoor Clothing for Kids.

The newspaper campaign highlighted United Way of Treasure Valley’s preventive approach to community issues and helped increase their fundraising campaign by 10 percent over the previous year.

Stoltz Marketing Group is a full-service marketing, advertising, interactive and design agency in Boise.

Agriculture

Gordon Gallup of Ririe was elected chairman and Bill Flory of Culdesac vice chairman of the Idaho Wheat Commission.

Gallup grows wheat, barley and alfalfa on 3,000 acres and has operated the family farm since 1975. He has been using direct seed tillage since 1985 and was instrumental in organizing and facilitating the commission’s Direct Seed Workshops held for the past several years in Idaho Falls.

Flory manages a fourth generation, diversified grain farm raising wheat, barley, bluegrass, canola and grass/alfalfa hay. He is a graduate of the University of Idaho. Flory has been involved with the Idaho Grain Producers Association and National Wheat Growers Associations and served as president of both organizations.

Doug Beehler of Eagle has been elected Lions District Governor of 39W District, which includes eastern Oregon and all of southern Idaho to Burley. Beehler will take office on July 1. He’ll represent more than 60 Lion and Leo Clubs and more than 1,400 members. He’ll also represent Idaho 39W Lions in Seattle at the 94th Lions International Convention from July 4-8.

NNU and College of Western Idaho partner through articulation ...

College of Western Idaho and Northwest Nazarene University joined forces Monday to formalize an articulation agreement that provides students with a clear path toward earning a bachelor's degree.

The agreement allows CWI students to easily transfer to Northwest Nazarene University and take advantage of NNU's degree programs designed for traditional students as well as professionals seeking to advance their career.

"CWI is thrilled to be partnering with the highly acclaimed NNU," said CWI President Bert Glandon. "The recognition of CWI credits at NNU provides CWI students an opportunity to continue to achieve their educational goals without interruption at a college of incredible stature. CWI and NNU have a number of similarities, and our commitment to student success is at the top of our list-as illustrated through this agreement."

Students who earn an associate's degree from CWI will be granted junior standing at NNU and are eligible to transfer up to 62 credits. These students will receive a waiver of all general education requirements with only a few exceptions. Also, students who earn 28-59 credits at CWI will be granted sophomore standing and CWI courses will be substituted for NNU requirements on a course-by-course basis.

"NNU is delighted to partner with the College of Western Idaho in making higher education accessible. This articulation agreement between the two schools helps students move forward in the pursuit of their bachelor's degree," said NNU President David Alexander. "The CWI-to-NNU college student will soon graduate from NNU with a bachelor's degree in hand and a world of employment opportunities before them. I hope many students take advantage of this unique relationship."
