Biltmore Hotel welcomes Oklahoma City show dogs

Dogs that are housed at the Grand Hotel of the state are among the 2000 competitors pampered and primped expected to show the eighth annual summer classic dog running through Sunday in Oklahoma City.

Dogs and their human companions, valets, janitors and mentors - sometimes referred to as owners - from all over the United States. Some dog experts are still travel to Canada and Mexico, said Holly Million, board member of the Oklahoma City Kennel Club and dog person throughout the show.

"They come from everywhere, if they feel they have a dog up," Million said.

Each breeder has a story show. But they usually start the same way, with this love thing.For Millions, hers started when she grew up in McAlester surrounded by pets, including Dobermans, Airedales and Schnauzers. "We've always had a dog."

Million met someone who showed the dogs and decided that it was for her. But it took a while before she could pay the dogs and the facilities to treat them. Today, Million, 55, a radio advertising saleswoman, lives with her eight soft coated wheaten terriers in an area of ​​Jones.
