Captured here in these hilarious images, the gleeful French bulldog shoots through the air whizzing towards the camera like a grinning white bullet.

Otto’s owner Matthew Shallenberger, 33, was so taken with Otto’s superpowers he decided to document them as a personal project.

“Otto is a very fast runner,” said Matthew from Chicago.

“Once while photographing him running I happened to discover that the motor-drive on the camera was synchronised with his stride.

“So if he ran towards the camera it was possible to catch him ‘flying’.

“While in between strides, all of his legs were off the ground.

“It was so funny, I had to take more.”

Matthew’s secret to gaining his images is to keep his fast paced pooch happy by offering Otto his favourite treat.

But rather than the traditional string of sausages Otto’s dream dog’s dinner has a healthy twist.

Sprinting as fast as his little legs would take him, nine-year-old Otto leaps to grab his favourite food – a lettuce leaf.

To do this Matthew dangled the lettuce over the camera lens while he snaps him in action before grabbing the leaf.

“Otto’s favourite treat in the world is salad – and quite honestly I’d be holding a lettuce leaf over my head,” said Matthew.

“Like many bulldog owners I think he’s more human than dog.

“And people love these pictures.
